An Update on the Current Education Landscape – A School Leaders Union Perspective

After leaving university, Paul began his teaching career in Canning Town in the London Borough of Newham. Paul then worked for three years supporting and training Newham’s school leadership and administration teams in the use of information and communication technology. In 2001, Paul relocated to Devon, where he led various schools until December 2023.

In 2019, Paul became a Doctor of Education for his thesis on children’s narrative identities.

For fourteen years Paul was the NAHT branch secretary for Devon, Torbay & Plymouth. Paul also represented NAHT members across the South-West region as a member of the NAHT’s South-West Executive. Paul was NAHT’s National President from April 2022 until August 2023. Paul currently works for the NAHT as part of its Membership & Strategy Team.

Paul has keen interest in natural history, with a special interest in birds and cetaceans.
